I’m walking down the street when, coming face-to-face with this familiar countenance unknown to me, I’m struck by the freedom expressed by his body. In the blink of an eye, the face becomes multiple. First I meet Kimura, who takes me one night to the Phoenix, where I start photographing. My gesture becomes compulsive. I return as soon as I can.

I like these faces, which I photograph very close up with a flash. I like to feel the party, the dancing, the music, my body in the night when, openly facing possibilities and free expressions, our share of truth comes loose and takes us to that other than me.
