MNÉMOSYNE
Mnémosyne explores the evocative power of images and photography's relationship to time through three works from the Frac collection.
How can the flow of time and the convolutions of memory be represented?
Artists Khaled Abdulwahed, Estefanía Peñafiel Loaiza and Sami Trabelsi’s exhibition methods and unique processing of moving images create portraits of people and places with contemporary stories. Through their staging, process of deconstruction-reconstruction and expansion of the time of the representation, the image is literally charged with people’s lived experience and the places’ spirit, remaining the only trace of memory that can summon a state of being disappeared.

July 1 – September 24
Admission included with the Rencontres d’Arles 2023 pass.
