Over the days, step by step, Laura Stevens will guide everyone in the creation of a coherent series with the portrait as a common thread. A fascinating work which will combine research on aesthetic and technical aspects such as light, colors, retouching and areas of substance, focusing on the vulnerability of the model, narration and poetry.

A course that will seek to make visible what we do not immediately see but which is felt, sought, breathed, built little by little, often through trial and error. Thus, it will be a question of sensitivity, of emotions, of the person who takes the photographs as well as of the person opposite, placed in front of the lens.

A quest for the intimate, which will be woven with the model, on the thread, in tension, exploring the slightest looks, movements, postures, breathing. In this dialogue with others, it is through personal choices, distance and light that a certain poetry will be born, shaped by an atmosphere, mysteries and a certain romanticism.

An approach which will be built by working and specifying the pictoriality of each photograph, by intervening in small touches on the files. Day after day, the photographs taken will respond to each other, coming together to compose a coherent, refined whole, retaining the essentials.

The achievements of each and everyone will then be presented in the form of an exhibition on the last day.

LAURA STEVENS
Laura Stevens, born in 1977, is British. She lives and works in Paris.

The sensitive work of Laura Stevens immerses us in a cinematographic universe in which each character seems to be the hero of a poetic intrigue.
She transports them with grace, and freezes them in an interrupted action, architect of a light which reminds us of that of Flemish painting.
Her work has been exhibited in France and abroad in museums, galleries and festivals, including the Clampart Gallery in New York, the National Portrait Gallery in London and Art Palm Beach. She also participated in residencies at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris and Campo Air in Uruguay. His photographs are published in The British Journal of Photography, Wired, Variety, The Times Magazine, The Washington Post, Madame Figaro, Libération and Telerama. She is represented by the modds photography agency and Galerie Miranda in Paris. Laura Stevens is a graduate of Leeds Metropolitan University and the University of Brighton.
