Five days alongside Kourtney Roy which will allow each participant to build a personal, coherent vision of the world around us, freeing themselves as soon as possible from the brakes and preconceived ideas which can hinder the creative process specific to each person.

A rigorous, precise but also very largely sensory, experimental work which does not forget that photography must remain a pleasure and is a magnificent tool for playing with what we see, with those around us but also sometimes with yourself. A game with the colors which are present all around us and which give rhythm, balance a composition, serve as a common thread for a series but also bring a tone, an atmosphere to what we want to tell and to the visual universe that we want to share. A game about the world, about everyday life, a game that allows us to interact in small touches or without limits with everything that surrounds us, others, places, objects, light. It will therefore be a question of interactions, of interferences, of not being satisfied with what is given to see but of using the staging to construct one's photographic universe.

Kourtney Roy will then guide each and everyone in the composition of a story, freeing themselves more or less from reality. An approach which will call on characters, a place, a situation, so many protagonists who can be identified, thought about, imagined before the shot or on the contrary more widely intercepted on the spot, leaving room for a certain improvisation, favoring the performance.

An exciting experience which will be placed under the sign of good humor and creativity and where it will also be a question of desires, imagination, fantasies, humor and surrealism. The last day will give rise to the presentation of a selection of the works carried out in the form of an exhibition.

KOURTENEY ROY

Professional photographer & trainer

Born in 1981 in Canada where she grew up, Kourtney Roy studied Fine Arts then turned to photography which aroused her interest for its immediacy and its very strong link with reality. Kourtney Roy began taking self-portraits in college. At the border of art and fashion, his work shows the crossed influences between these two worlds. In her work, she mixes fiction and auto-fiction, and explores the sublime and strange aspects of everyday life, in settings tinged with mystery. Kourtney Roy has won several awards: Prix Picto in 2007, “Screenings Award” in Berlin in 2008, “Emiliy Award” in Vancouver in 2012.
