10 years of the Rencontres d'Arles awards
Initiated by the Rencontres d'Arles in 2002, and immediately backed by the LUMA Foundation, the Discovery Award has since led to the invitation of more than fifty guest nominators, whose widely varying choices illustrate the ongoing expansion of the field of photography. Many of the winning artists were on the rise at the time; and as this exhibition conclusively shows, all of them have gone on to find real reputations.
