Stéphane Damant has been a photo editor for over 15 years. He is currently at Les Inrockuptibles, the French cultural magazine, where his work ranges from portraits to fashion photography production. He was previously photo editor for a number of publications such as GEO, Sciences & Avenir and M Le Monde. Stephane is also an independent curator, working with talented artists he considers under-represented such as Peter B. Lighton and Max Pam, who were included in his contribution to the 2017 and 2020 Promenades Photographiques. He has also brought to light little-known photographic collections such as the Farm Security Administration's colour archives, which he exhibited at the Promenades Photographiques in 2016. or the Forgotten Thai Masters of Photography, included in In The Water They Are Fish, In The Fields There Is Rice at the Phautomnales in 2021. Stephane is founder and editor of subshine.org created in 2017, where he monitors new visual narratives from Asia and supports young Asian creation through articles, interviews, portfolios and exhibitions.
