Martino Stierli is the Philip Johnson Chief Curator of Architecture and Design
at the MoMA, New York. He is the author
of Las Vegas in the Rearview Mirror: The City and Theory, Photography and Film (2013) and is currently preparing the publication of a monographic study on Montage
and Architecture, which investigates
the conception and representation of space in modernity. Stierli’s work is situated
at the intersection of modern architecture and the broader context of visual culture,
and in particular photography and film.
He directs the research project ‘Architectures of Display’ at the University of Zurich,
which is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.
