Aida Muluneh

Born 1974, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Lives and works in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Aida Muluneh is a photographer, cultural entrepreneur, and owner of Desta For Africa (DFA). A graduate of Howard University’s department of Communication in Film (Washington, D.C.), she is also an artist. Her works are in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art (Washington, D.C.), the Hood Museum of Art (Hanover, New Hampshire) and the Museum of Biblical Art (New York City). She is the 2007 recipient of the Rencontres Africaines de la Photographie’s European Union Prize (Bamako, Mali) as well as the 2010 winner of the CRAF International Award of Photography (Spilimbergo, Italy). She is the founder of Addis Foto Fest, East Africa’s first international photography festival.
