Virginie Chardin is a freelance curator focusing on the history of photography. She has curated the following exhibitions: Willy Ronis in Paris and Paris in Color, from the Lumière Brothers to Martin Parr at the Paris City Hall; Images of a Capital at the Folkwang Museum in Essen; Denis Darzacq at the Pavillon Carré de Baudoin; Pierre de Fenoÿl, an Imaginary Geography and Sabine Weiss at the Jeu de Paume-Château de Tours; and Antonin Personnaz at the Fine Arts Museum in Rouen. She has been a project leader at the Nicéphore-Niépce Museum, head of the Rencontres d'Arles awards and delegate for Paris Photography Month. She wrote the photo-pocketbooks Séeberger Frères, Ernst Haas and Sabine Weiss.
