Kechun Zhang began to study painting when he was a child. He studied art and design at the Sichuan Radio and TV University and graduated in 2001. From 2001 to 2007, he worked as a designer in Chengdu before deciding to become a photographer and artist. His work has been exhibited in several countries (Photoquai, Paris, 2013; Beijing Photo Biennale, 2013; Delhi Photo Festival, India, 2013). He was a National Geographic Picks Global Photo Contest winner in 2008 and was shortlisted at the Sony World Photography Awards in 2013. His works have been collected internationally by many museums and private collectors in USA, France, Germany, Japan, and China.
