Anna Maria Maiolino

Born 1942, Scalea, Italy. Lives and works in São Paulo, Brasil.
The artist Anna Maria Maiolino was raised in New York up until 1954, when she emigrated to Latin America, adopting the Brazilian nationality in 1968. As an inheritor of the Anthropophage movement, her work opposes dictatorship, and puts performance, Super 8 film, and writing to use in service of activism.
