Considered one of Chile’s most famous photographers, Paz Errázuriz uses black and white portraits as a means of exploring her country’s society, including its grittiest aspects. Self-taught at first, she took courses at New York’s International Center of Photography in 1993. She cofounded Chile’s Association of Freelance Photographers (AFI) and has won many honors, including the 1995 Ansel Adams Award and 2015 PhotoEspaña Award. Ms. Errázuriz and Lotty Rosenfeld represented Chile at the 56th Venice Biennale in 2015.
