Jacques Léonard began his career in cinema, working with Abel Gance, among others. On a scouting trip, he explored Spain, where he settled permanently in 1952. He then became a professional photographer, collaborating with different media outlets and establishing a lab dedicated to advertising photography. He produced reports and other work up until 1975, the year he put down photography for medical reasons.
