Mathieu Asselin
Born 1973, Aix-en-Provence, France. Lives and works in Arles, France.
Mathieu Asselin began working in film production in Venezuela at 16. When he returned to France, he joined the photo agency L’œil du Sud. Between 2005 and 2017, he lived in New York. His work, which has been the object of numerous individual and collective exhibitions, concerns itself with documentary photography and portraiture. He has been published, notably, in The New Yorker, Libération, Géo, Freitag, Paris Match, and Le Monde. In 2016, he was awarded First Prize at the Fotobookfestival Kassel for his book Monsanto, A Photographic Investigation.
