Edition 2006

Béatrice HELG

Born 1956 in Geneva, Switzerland.

Passionately devoted to photography and painting – but also to music, theatre and architecture – Béatrice Helg has been taking photographs since 1976.

Then a student in the United States, she was already constructing mises en scène for her pictures.

Since 1979 she has had over fifty personal exhibitions in Europe, the United States and Japan, in venues that include the Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego; the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos; the Galerie Thessa Herold in Paris; and the Galerie Jan Krugier, Ditesheim in Geneva and New York. An exhibition at the Tinguely Museum in Basel in 2006 will be followed by another at IVAM, the Institute of Modern Art in Valencia, Spain.

Béatrice Helg presented his work at the Rencontres d'Arles in 2006: A la lumière à l'ombre, at the Chapelle St Martin du Méjan.
