Anay MANN

Born in 1974, in New Delhi (India), where he lives and works.

Anay Mann began photographing six years ago, when he made a career transition from a model to a photographer. The constructed image became the idiom he sought to explore with his camera.

Mann’s most comprehensive project, Generation in Transition – a series of portraits of young urban Indians across the major cities in India, came together in his first solo exhibition in 2004. Images from the same series have been included in the 13th Noorderlicht International Photofestival 2006 in the Netherlands.

His current project, About Neetika, is an ongoing series of portraits that present the everyday reality of his domestic life. Mann’s portraits have been widely published in Forbes, Fortune, Business 2.0, Life, Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin, Manager Magazin, Die Zeit, World Business Magazine, Red Herring, among others.

His first book, About Turn was published in 2004. His work is represented by PhotoInk in New Delhi.

Anay Mann presented his work at the Rencontres d'Arles in 2007: About Neetika at the Atelier des Forges.
