Pablo BARTHOLOMEW
Born in 1955, in India. Lives and works in New Delhi (India).
Currently is based in New Delhi, India, divides time between photography, running photography workshops and managing a software company MediaWeb, which specializes in photo databases solutions & server based digital archiving process & systems.Started out as a documentary photographer at the young age of 15, Pablo has also photographed societies in transition in different locations. He has won the World Press Photo award for his series Morphine Addicts in India (1975) and the World Press Picture of the Year for the Bhopal Gas Tragedy (1985). He has taken part in several international exhibitions & published in Newsweek, Time, National Geographic and Geo amongst other prestigious journals.From 2001 he has been involved with mentoring young Indian photographers. Running photography workshop with the support of the World Press Photo Foundation and he advises foundations that give photography awards and fellowships. Through Mediaweb he has designed and deployed online photography educational software that allows young photographers and their tutors interactively work and edit their projects.
