Trinidad CARRILLO
Born in 1975 in Cusco, Peru.
Grew up in Lima, Trinidad moved to Stockholm, Sweden, in 1987 and has more or less been living in between the two countries since 1996. She begun with photography at the age of 13. She then studied music and art before starting her B.F.A. (1998 to 2001) and her B.A.(2004 to 2006) at Hogskolan for fotografi in Gothenburg. She has had several solo shows and, among others, participated in the New Nordic Photography at Hasselblad Center in 2006. Besides Sweden and Peru she has also shown her work in Norway, the U.S.A., the Netherlands, Iceland, Scotland and just finished a solo show at the Gallery Spark in Copenhagen. Her last solo exhibition was in 2014 in Anacoluto, Bienal de fotografía de Lima, Centro Cultural Inca Garcilaso. Trinidad Carillo presented her work at the Rencontres d'Arles in 2007, nominated by Johan Sjöström for the Discovery Award: Trinidad Carillo in Arles.
