WORKSHOP AROUND THE EXHIBITION THAWRA! رةثو REVOLUTION!

SUDAN, HISTORY OF AN UPRISING

In preview of the exhibition Thawra! رةثو Revolution! Soudan, histoire d'un soulèvement presented in Arles this summer, the students of the Mistral high school in Arles were able to discover a country, Sudan, accompanied by Juliette Agnel, curator of the exhibition.
They were able to discover how to manipulate a body of images and learn about curating an exhibition, exchange ideas via video-conference with one of the photographers in the exhibition, discover the wonderful documentary film Talking about Trees by Suhaib Gasmelbari, take part in the hanging of the exhibition in the presence of Juliette Agnel and the technical teams of the Rencontres d'Arles, and thus question themselves more broadly about the different ways of documenting a revolution.

Next step: meeting with the 8 photographers presented in the exhibition when they come to Arles in early July!

The Rencontres d'Arles would like to warmly thank the wonderful students of 3ème D of the Mistral school for their involvement in the project, Mr Azouz, deputy principal, Sébastien Spicher, French teacher, Mrs Chambeu, English teacher for hosting the project, which has been postponed many times, Anne Fourès, Magali Trinquier, Natalia Chatzigianni, from the Rencontres d'Arles, Florent Basiletti, artist and exhibition curator, as well as Sophie Valentin and Marie Delouze from the DAAC of the Aix-Marseille academy.
