Since its creation, the Rencontres d’Arles has promoted photography and all its stakeholders: photographers, artists, curators, publishers, etc.

In that spirit, the Rencontres d’Arles has associated the Louis Roederer Discovery Award with galleries and opened it up to all exhibition venues.

Through their work spotting new talent, galleries, arts centers, artist-run spaces, independent venues and institutions are often the first to support emerging artists.

Now they can propose an exhibition project by an artist they believe in and whose work has been recently discovered or deserves to be by an international audience.

Ten projects will be shortlisted and featured at the next Rencontres d’Arles. During opening week, a jury will determine the winner of the Louis Roederer Discovery Award, which is bestowed on an artist and the structure supporting the project in the form of an acquisition for the amount of €15,000.  The public will determine the winner of the Public Award, which carries an acquisition for the amount of €5,000.
