Developed by the Rencontres d'Arles, Observe-See is an educational platform allowing the public to better understand photography and the photography world through various contents and resources.
NUMEROUS RESOURCES
- a dictionary with up to 200 definitions related to photography and images.
- a chronological timeline outlining the main technical innovations in photography.
- bibliographical references related to photography, visual literacy and media education.
- an interactive map listing up to 100 sites devoted to photography in France: festivals, permanent exhibitions and visual literacy venues.
- a section bringing together up to 40 resource websites dedicated to the history of photography, visual culture, technical and visual education.
- news and links to many partner organizations which will, over time, enrich the platform.
- a focus on photography-related jobs and training courses.
RECREATIONAL WORKSHOPS
A collection of 32 photographs selected from different editions of the festival, information on the artists, suggestions and ideas of playful workshops to animate around this body of work are made available to school audiences and the educational community.
Participants are invited to go ahead and beyond the images by studying their context and questioning their publication. They can also share feedback from their workshop experience.
