COLLECTION DRIVE & ALBUM
50 EDITIONS OF THE RENCONTRES D'ARLES
The Rencontres d’Arles will celebrate its 50th anniversary in July 2019.
To mark the occasion, the festival is asking the visitors, participants and witnesses of those 50 years of photography to share their memories and archives.
Photographs, videos, sound recordings, digitalized documents (newspapers, posters, letters, etc.) and testimonies can be uploaded to a participatory platform.
A huge digital album tracing the festival’s five decades will go online in March.
CONTRIBUTE & PARTICIPATE
IN THE FESTIVAL'S LIVING MEMORY!
Share with us your portraits of great photographers you ran into around a corner in Arles or met at a big dinner or a training course.
Let us rediscover unusual hangings and boldly designed exhibitions.
Remind us of the morning debates under the hackberry that followed thunderous applause or stormy protests at the Roman Theater.
Bring the projections to the beat of Kodak carrousels and rock music or your arrivals in Arles en 2CV or high-speed train back to life.
Entrust us with your memories of the gardens of Hôtel Arlatan, Place du Forum, Parc des Ateliers or Cour Fanton.
Together let’s remember five decades of photography and friendship.
Fifty summers where photography is exhibited beneath the blazing sun of Provence and celebrated to the end of Camargue nights.
