Musée de la Camargue

Museum of the Camargue, nature and Art Society of Camargue, between Rhone and Mediterranean island, has an exceptional environment, fruit of the encounter of freshwater with salt water and human activities that developed there. The regional natural park of the Camargue is designed to protect and sustain the natural, cultural and human heritage to build the future of this territory.
A Museum is the MAS of the Rousty bridge that the natural park has installed the Museum of the Camargue, showcase of the territory. Recently renovated in a logic of sustainable development, the fold under the frame of origin offers immersion in the Camargue region of yesterday and today with the permanent exhibition the thread of water, over time.Historical pieces, interactive, playful installations, sound, videos and contemporary works of art invite small and large to surf between past, present and future, far from the clichés conveyed.A trail experience can be extended through the path that runs along the canal and the rice paddies to the marais, passing through the gardian hut.
A cultural programme throughout the year, performances, projections, meetings debates and thematic tours at the Museum or in the territory of the Park offer a fun and different from the culture camarguaise approach.Artistic route at the start of the trail, a work of Tadashi Kawamata, Horizons, invited to rise to ponder issues of water in the delta of the Rhône. On the territory of the Park, the course of water trails invites to come out of the box to see Camargue otherwise with Tadashi Kawamata facilities, Décise, on the banks of the Grand Rhone in Arles and stop at the Grande Montlong pumping station.
