NOÉ SOULIER
Fragments
Continuing the exploration of movement that she began in 2010, choreographer Noé Soulier’s film Fragments examines movement when it is confronted with the camera. Depending on its height and size, framing creates special spaces that allow the camera to probe aspects of movement that would be invisible on stage. The viewer can see details of different parts of the body and in the superimposition of the dancers that a single point of view cannot offer. A new exploration of the body’s fragmentary dimension and evocative power, Fragments aims to show the possibility of singling out individual parts of the body, both in and outside the camera’s field of view.
