Gilbert & George have participated together in an array of international group exhibitions including the 51st International Venice Biennale (2005), Turner Prize, London (1984) and Carnegie International, Pittsburgh (1985). Their work has been the subject of major solo exhibitions hosted at the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (1995–96); the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (1998); the Serpentine Galleries (2004-2005), London; and the Tate Modern, London (2007).
