Sakiko Nomura trained as a photographer in 1990s Japan and collaborated with Araki. Here she presents a variation on her Black Darkness (Kuroyami) —published in 2008—using the solarisation process characteristic of Man Ray. She poses her models in hotel rooms, creating through photography an erotic play between sexual tension and sensual satisfaction, measuring out her representations of nudes with landscapes and still lifes. Sakiko Nomura is a renowned artist. She was the 2013 winner of the New Figure Encouragement Prize at Photo City Sagamihara and has published many works, including Naked Time (1997), Black Darkness (2008), and Nude/A Room/Flowers (2012).
