Thierry Bouët studied law before starting his photography career in the army. Afterwards, he became artistic director of the Harcourt studio and, later, a fashion photographer. He gradually invented informal communities of men and women without ties between them: women looking for love in the personal ads, individuals with a passion for unusual beds, people living in hotels. Personal Affairs follows that thread by bringing together people who sell their belongings on the internet.
