François Despatin and Christian Gobeli, two visual artist photographers, produced French Portraits, a series showing people in their environments, for DATAR. Meanwhile, they also created Vêtements et Parures, a series of full-length portraits on a base. That commission was the beginning of a long-term series of portraits of literary, art, sports and political figures. In 2009, they founded the 103/ADLMTR collective with graphic artist Jacques Gaïotti and painter Olivier Le Bars.
