Gabriele Basilico’s experience of traveling along the Nord-Pas-de-Calais coast photographing ports and cities for DATAR marked a turning point in his career. After his Bord de mer series was published in several books (1990, 1992, 2003), he participated in various individual and collective projects in cities worldwide, which led to exhibitions and publications, including Cityscapes (1999), Beirut (2003), Scattered City (2005) and a Silicon Valley project commissioned by the San Francisco MoMA in 2007.
