Philippe Calia is an artist, photographer and filmmaker. His work has received several awards and has been exhibited in various museums, galleries and festivals. His first solo show, Lēthē, was held in 2022 at TARQ Gallery, Mumbai. First moving to India in 2006 as a student, he specializes on the region during a research Master at Sciences-Po Paris, followed by an M.A in Photographic Studies at the University of Westminster, London. After settling in Mumbai in 2011, he developed a long-term documentary approach to his work, which gravitates around two poles - the urban experience and the notion of memory - while trying to question the status and form of images.
