In December 2023, the gb agency gallery officially announced its closure. This marked a turning point in the history of art and galleries over the last 30 years, one that the Collection Lambert would like to reflect on. The exhibition features 15 emblematic artists from the Parisian gallery, some of whom played a part in shaping photographic practice at the pivotal point between the 20th and 21st centuries—Mac Adams, Dove Allouche, Elina Brotherus, Ryan Gander, Jiri Kovanda...—and takes us on a journey through the adventures of a gallery committed to supporting artistic practices at the very heart of the aesthetic and political issues of our times.
gb agency was built upon a distanced approach to our relationship with reality, a non-linear rereading of our art history, a tribute to free and sinuous trajectories. Just like Robert Breer's elusive Floats, life flows through the exhibition space, which becomes the playground for free, organic body movements and human interactions.
Admission included with the Rencontres d’Arles 2024 pass
