Guided Tours

During the Opening Week, exhibiting photographers present their work to visitors.
From Monday 10 July to Sunday 24 September, a team of outreach staff-photographers offer daily-90-minute guided visits within the different exhibition sites. An insightful, technical and interactive approach to the festival.
Guided visits require no reservation and are free for pass holders and for people eligible for free admission
(Under 18s, disabled persons, AAH, RSA, ASS and ASPA beneficiaries, Arles citizens).

Young festival-goers can have a fun, educational time while their parents visit exhibitions.
Every day, a mediator-photographer explores different themes in workshops where children can learn about staging, narration, outside-the-frame techniques, point of view, playing with scale, etc.; develop their critical thinking skills; and stimulate their imagination.
Workshops are in French only (Tjs le cas ?)

MONDAY — ON STAGE!
Festival-goers learn to create their own photographic language with the help of fabrics, props staging, point of view, framing, light, colour, etc.
TUESDAY — BREAKING THE FRAME
The children give free rein to their imaginations and create their own narratives by developing outside-theframe techniques.
WEDNESDAY — PAUSE-PHOTO-PROSE
This game involving speed, observation, cooperation, logic, team spirit, laughs and imagination stimulates young festivalgoers to think about photography.
THURSDAY — PLAYING WITH SCALE
What is point of view? Where should the characters be placed? What kind of lighting should be used? How can perspective be played with? Young festival-goers become directors, actors, camera operators, etc., for a few hours.
FRIDAY — GRAPHIC ARTIST APPRENTICE
Working on newspaper, magazine and advertising mock-ups, participants learn how a single picture can be put to many uses.
SUNDAY — MY WORD!
BASED ON CHARLES FRÉGER'S EXHIBITION YOKAINOSHIMA
Festival-goers will explore Charles Fréger’s world of Japanese ghosts, monsters, ogres and goblins before creating their own during a photo session.
