Every day for two years, between 2015 and 2017, I went to the leboncoin.fr classified ads website and captured aesthetically interesting images evoking something more than an item or service to sell. My goal was to see if art could be accidently found where you least expect it and, if so, to use these vernacular images as material for creation and reflection. I have 5,606 pictures that I’m putting online on the aubonboncoincoin.com website, organizing them by various themes: photography (language, style, genre), my compatriots’ tastes (furniture, pets, appliances, etc.), more universal and philosophical themes (religion, life, war, etc.). At BYOPaper, I’d like you to see the ones that, being photographic failures, become artistic gems.
