Hans-Peter Feldmann
100 years
Hans-Peter Feldmann works mostly with found photographs, but here he has produced 100 Years by taking the pictures himself. The series consists of portraits of 101 persons from among his family and friends: one person for each year of an optimistic life span of one hundred years, beginning with a baby eight weeks old and ending with a lady aged one hundred. When Feldmann failed to find someone of the right age among his own family and friends, he went looking among those friends’ families. The series took three years to complete: in some cases he had to wait a year for someone to reach the age he needed. The final series was chosen from among pictures of some one hundred and thirty people. Himself close to seventy, Feldmann has set out here to establish his position within the circle of people making up his private life and thus to situate himself on a time line.
Exhibition venue: Atelier de Mécanique, Parc des Ateliers.
