Winners of the 2013 SFR Young Talents-Rencontres d’Arles Competition: Cécile Decorniquet, Vincent Fillon, Bruno Fontana, Jean Noviel. SFR reaffirms its support for contemporary photographic creation by exhibiting four SFR Young Talents artists selected by the 2013 SFR- Recontres d’Arles jury composed of François Hebel, director of the Rencontres d’Arles and president of the jury, François Cheval, director of the Musée Nicéphore Niépce, and Michel Mallard, creative director, photographer, and exhibition curator. SFR offers an SFR Young Talents exhibition based on the competition’s theme ‘Photography and Manipulation’. The winners created works relating to mise en scène, staging dreams and imaginary worlds by transforming reality through retouching, pho- tomontage, and added characters. The selected artists are invited to the Rencontres’ opening week and their photographs are exhibited during the festival. Their photographs are also projected on screen during the Night of the Year and the artists will have the opportunity of meeting photography professionals and having their portfolios assessed. The initiative of this competition is part of the SFR Young Talents programme, whose aim is to discover and promote young artists by facilitating exhibitions of their work for professionals and the public, and by putting them in touch with photography experts. Through the SFR Young Talents programme, each year SFR accompanies thirty photographers, advised by professionals and experts, and allows them to exhibit their works during major events such as the Rencontres d’Arles.
