A Moment of Affection is the first solo exhibition in France for the British photographer, Mary McCartney. Following a very challenging time devoid of touch, A Moment of Affection brings together works that span a 30 year-period and reveal an enduring motivation at the heart of McCartney’s practice, to make sensitive but persistent enquiries about intimate instances of deep connection. From dancers to horses, from footsie to unmade beds, her lens magnifies a moment of affection but never disrupts. Treading a fine line between voyeurism and celebration, the results of her enquiries manage at once to be self-contained and invitations to the viewer.
