Edition 2021

LUMA RENCONTRES DUMMY BOOK AWARD 2021

Since 2015, the Rencontres d'Arles has offered a prize to help publish a dummy book. 

Endowed with a €25,000 production budget, the award is open to any photographer or emerging artist using photography on the basis of a proposal for a book that has never been published. Experimental and innovative editorial forms receive special attention.

The winner of the Dummy Book 2021 is MOE SUZUKI with Sokohi.

This year, 140 works from 32 countries were submitted.

The winners of the Luma Rencontres Dummy Book Award Arles 2020 was Yto Barrada & Bettina for Bettina. Special Mention to Kourtney Roy for The Other End of The Rainbow.

The recipient of the 2019 edition of the award was Chow & Lin for The Povery Line.

The recipient of the 2018 edition of the award was Marina Gadonneix for Phénomènes. A special mention was given to the dummy book by Indré Urbonaité (State of Shame).

The recipients of the 2017 edition of the award were Olga Kravets, Maria Morina, Oksana Yushko and Anna Shpakova for Grozny: Nine Cities.

The recipients of the second edition of the award were Katja Stuke and Oliver Sieber for their book You and Me. A special mention was given to the dummy book by Mathieu Asselin (Monsanto).

In 2015, the recipient was Yann Gross for his Jungle Book.
