Katalin KOPIN

Ferenczy Museum Centre / PhotoLab, Curator & Artistic Director, Hungary

3 Morning - 3 Afternoon
Katalin Kopin has been an art historian, museologist and curator at the Ferenczy Museum Centre in Szentendre since 2010, and also works on curatorial projects of her own. She has curated several retrospective and group exhibitions, and has authored and edited catalogues and monographs.
For the exhibitions, she produces video portraits of, and interviews with, contemporary artists. She regularly moderates presentations of art books and film screenings, and gives guided tours. As of 2022, she is the head of PhotoLab, an exhibition space for contemporary photography, that supports the creation of new photographic projects.
In recent years, her interest as an art historian and curator has turned to documentary photography, and she is in particular committed to the analysis, study and presentation to the public of long-form photographic essays. She believes that photography can point to important social issues and can initiate changes in attitudes.
