Esra Klein is a curator and photographer with experience in research and organization of photography exhibitions in both museums and galleries. During her documentary photography studies, she gained experience in curating and co-organizing the Lumix Festival of Young Photojournalism 2012 with the other students in Hannover, Germany; Sahin Kaygun and Magnum Contact Sheets at Istanbul Modern and at BauArt Gallery, Istanbul.
Since 2018 she works as assistant curator with Celina Lunsford at Fotografie Forum Frankfurt, a centre dedicated to the international photographic arts and related media. Here she gained new perceptions towards artistic photography and co-curated exhibitions like FERHAT BOUDA and ELINA BROTHERUS in 2022. E
nrolled in the Städel Curatorial Studies Masters Program since 2021, she has gained a deeper knowledge in artistic and photographical theory and exhibition making. Esra Klein is interested in photographs that evolve emotions within the viewer and tell stories, from a personal, conceptual and journalistic point of view.
