Dimitri Beck has been director of photography at Polka (magazine+gallery+factory), which he founded with the Genestar family, since 2008.
He regularly participates in conferences on story-telling through images and teaches journalism courses at Sciences Po in Paris and the Spéos photo school. He hosted a radio show about photography on France Info every week for several years. Today he is on TSF Jazz.
From 2004 to late 2006, Dimitri headed the Aina Photo agency in Kabul, where he trained and promoted a generation of Afghan photographers. He was also editor-in-chief of the bilingual French-English magazine Les Nouvelles de Kaboul/New Afghanistan.
Born 1972 in Paris, Dimitri started his career in 1998 as a freelance journalist and has often worked in Central Asia and the Caucasus.
