Helén Petersen is working as department manager at the Monastery of Halsnøy, and is the Museum´s coordinator for the residency program. She is also a photographer, exhibiting internationally.
Øyvind Hjelmen is initiator, artistic director and curator for the Artist - in - Residence program at the Monastery of Halsnøy, Sunnhordland Museum. He has been working as an artist and photographer for more than 25 years. His works has been exhibited in 14 countries, and are held in several collections.
They can offer the possibility of a three weeks´ free stay at the Monastery, for those who are interested in applying. Photographers will receive honest feedback on their works, and the review may count as an application for the residency if the photographer so wishes. Hjelmen and Petersen are interested in seeing a diversity of photography, and are open to all kinds of photo-based works. They believe in creating a good mix of people working in different directions during the residency.
