Sophie Webel holds a master’s degree in art history from Université Paris IV Sorbonne. In 2003, she became head of the Dubuffet Foundation, which she had joined in 1997 after working 14 years at the Baudoin Lebon gallery, where she discovered Jean Dubuffet and photography. She wrote the Catalogue Raisonné de l’Œuvre Gravé et des Livres Illustrés de Jean Dubuffet (Baudoin Lebon, 1991) and has curated many shows devoted to his work in France and abroad.
