Ricardo Vazquez spent his childhood in Latin America and the West Indies. He is the chief curator and director of heritage at the Hôtel des Arts, the arts center of the departement of the Var. He takes a great interest in the relationship between the arts and the city, and has organized exhibitions to this end with major French photographers, such as Stéphane Couturier, Jacqueline Salmon, and Bernard Plossu. He has collaborated with institutions specialized in photography, such as the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, and the PhotoEspana festival. He is a member on a number of photography panels, among which the Fondation des Treilles.
