Matthieu Nicol

Born 1978 in Nouméa, New Caledonia.
Lives and works in Paris, France.
Matthieu Nicol is an iconographer and image collector. In 2022, he published Better Food for Our Fighting Men (RVB Books), based on an archive from a US Army food lab. This work has been the subject of installations at the PhotoSaintGermain (Paris), Format (UK), ReBonkers (Bulgaria) and Yeast Photo (Italy) festivals. A former journalist with the Photo department of Le Monde, he writes regularly about photography and is editor-in-chief of Simone, the PhotoSaintGermain newspaper. In 2012, he founded Too Many Pictures, an agency specialising in the development of editorial, digital and communication tools for cultural players.
