Sim Chi Yin

Born 1978 in Singapore.
Lives and works in Singapore and Berlin, Germany.
Sim Chi Yin is an artist whose research-based practice includes photography, archives and text-based performance, and focuses on history, conflict and memory. Recent solo exhibitions include Most People Were Silent, Institute of Contemporary Arts, LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore (2018), Fallout, Nobel Peace Museum, Oslo (2017), and Rat Tribe, the 15th Istanbul Biennial, Turkey (2017). Sim was commissioned as the Nobel Peace Prize photographer in 2017. She is represented by Zilberman Gallery, Berlin and Hanart TZ Gallery, Hong Kong, and joined Magnum Photos as a nominee member in 2018. She is currently completing a visual practice-based PhD with King’s College London.
