Mario Giacomelli started working in a printer’s plant. In 1952 he bought a camera and shot his first images. From that moment onwards he devoted his life to the creation of his intense photographic series: life in the hospice, landscapes, Scanno, rural life. In 1955 he started to be acknowledged by the photography world and began to exhibit his work. His images are part of the most important art collections worldwide. Giacomelli died in Senigallia in the year 2000.
