Liz Deschenes

Born in 1966 in Boston. Lives and works in New York.

Liz Deschenes has a B.F.A. in photography from Rhode Island School of Design. She has been exhibiting internationally for over fifteen years, and in the last year, she has had three solo exhibitions and a two-person premiere at Art Basel, Switzerland. Her photographs were also recently included in the inaugural exhibition of the Modern Wing at the Art Institute of Chicago; Reflections on the Medium, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Color Chart, at the Museum of Modern Art. Her work is in the permanent collections of several museums, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Walker Art Center, and the Hessel Museum at CCS Bard. Her work is represented by Miguel Abreu Gallery, New York, and Sutton Lane, London and Paris. Her work is invested in cultivating a self-reflexive dialogue through photography, and a relationship to the third dimension, both in sculpture and architecture. Liz Deschenes is represented by the Miguel Abreu Gallery in New York and by the Sutton Lane in Londres and in Paris.
