Arnaud Claass

Born 1949 in Paris. Lives and works in Sens.
Arnaud Claass’s work appears in many public collections, including the Centre Pompidou; the French National Contemporary Art Collection; the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris; the Museum of Fine Arts (Houston); and the National Museum of Modern Art (Tokyo). He has published a dozen books, the latest of which is Heure locale (Local Time), 2008. He has been a professor at the French École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie (ENSP) since it was founded, and he has frequently been invited to the International Center of Photography (New York), the École des Arts Appliqués (Vevey), the Hoger Instituut voor Schone Kunsten (Anvers), and the Institute of Art, Design and Technology (Dublin). Alongside this, he is a regular writer and currently a member of the editorial committee for Infra-Mince, the journal of the ENSP. He has recently published a new volume of writing, Le Réel de la photographie (Éditions Filigranes).
