Eric Wurm graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Vienna in 1981. In creating his sculptural works, he uses media as varied as video, installation, performance and photography. His project One Minute Sculptures, begun at the end of the 1980s, has museum visitors take part in ephemeral and unstable constructions that work to redefine the notion of sculpture. Humor, absurdity, and play are mainstays of his work.
