Trained as an architect, Patrick Tosani began practicing photography in the 1980s. Always in the form of series, his work is affiliated with the “New Objectivity” movement, characterized by a minimalist aesthetic, close to that of the Dusseldorf School. His typologies (Talons, 1987, les Têtes, 1992, Vêtements, 1997) put large format photography in service of “sculptural” representations of his subjects.
